are the oscars worrth it?

so i was talking to my friends over coffee today and we were thinking that the oscars is so passe and shit. none of my fav films have won awards, is it pointless? the best films are always overlooked and i don't get it at all. it's on tonite and i wont b watching

there is too much hype and it just spoils it. no independant designers get to showcase their art anymore, is it pointless?

i think that if i was in charge i'd invent a new award for the best performance by a dead person. heath ledger would win because although it was hyped, it delivered, like prince or britney spears.
